Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea (ROK) Lee Nak-yeon on Sunday arrived in Algeria for an official three-day visit, APS News Agency reported.

Lee's delegation of his cabinet members and ROK businessmen was welcomed by his Algerian counterpart Ahmed Ouyahia at Algiers international airport.

The two prime ministers will co-chair the fifth bilateral business forum due on Monday, while Lee is also expected to hold talks with other senior Algerian officials over issues of common interests.

Lee's visit will likely be concluded with the signing of partnership agreements to boost cooperation in various economic fields.

Algeria and ROK are linked by a strategic partnership agreement signed in 2006.

According to the Algerian Customs, Algeria's exports to ROK in 2017 amounted to 700 million U.S. dollars, against 1.6 billion dollars' worth of imports.

Some 30 ROK companies are operating in Algeria, covering the fields of telecommunications, mechanical engineering, agriculture and aquaculture.
