6.8-magnitude quake hits Chile's coast

An earthquake measuring 6.8 on the Richter scale jolted port city of Coquimbo, Chile, on Saturday night.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake took place at 0132 GMT on Sunday with the epicenter at a depth of 54 km. No tsunami threat was issued.
