Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) announced on Monday the launching of eight initiatives to promote air transport-related industries.

According to a report on the Saudi Press Agency, the initiatives are part of the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program (NIDLP).

The program is expected to contribute about 1.2 trillion riyals (320 billion U.S. dollars) to the Saudi economy by 2030, which comprises over half the size of the current economy.

Domestic production will also increase by more than 700 billion riyals, creating 1.6 million jobs, and raising the value of Saudi Arabia's exports to more than one trillion riyals.

The initiatives include the expansion of airports, air cargo services, aviation safety, developing navigation systems, flight scheduling, domestic air ticket rates, supporting Saudi airlines, technology and innovation, and improving the overall customer experience at airports.
