S.Korea, US nuke envoys hold phone talks on Korean Peninsula situations

Chief nuclear envoys of South Korea and the United States held telephone talks Thursday about situations on the Korean Peninsula, Seoul's foreign ministry said.
Lee Do-hoon, South Korea's special representative for Korean Peninsula peace and security affairs, talked over phone with Stephen Biegun, U.S. special representative for the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) affairs, earlier in the day.
During the talks, Lee and Biegun shared the assessment of situations on the peninsula following last week's summit between top DPRK leader Kim Jong Un and Russian President Vladimir Putin and the second summit between Kim and U.S. President Donald Trump in February.
The second Kim-Trump summit held at the Vietnamese capital of Hanoi ended with no agreement.
South Korea has pushed to help resume dialogue between Pyongyang and Washington following the Hanoi summit.
The Seoul ministry said Lee and Biegun discussed ways to cooperate in advancing the complete denuclearization of and the settlement of lasting pace in the Korean Peninsula, without elaborating further.
