Liu Xin from CGTN and Trish Regan from Fox Business are set to go head-to-head next week in a televised debate on the China-U.S. trade frictions.
Liu, a well-known host from CGTN, refuted statements made on-air by Regan on May 22 about the need for the United States government to fight an "economic war" with China. Regan responded to Liu on her program the next day, and took to Twitter to invite Liu to a debate.
"I hear you. Will get back to you very soon. But I don't want to play any mud throwing game, if that's what you prepare to do," Liu tweeted in reply.
After several rounds of replies, the debate was set for 8 p.m. Eastern Time next Wednesday during Regan's program. Liu Xin will take part via satellite from the CGTN studio in Beijing.
