Kuwait and France on Thursday inked a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in preventing and combating corruption, the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.

The deal was signed by Kuwait Anti-Corruption Authority and French Anti-Corruption Agency in Paris, KUNA said.

Riad Hmoud Al-Hajri, deputy president of Kuwait Anti-Corruption Authority, said that Kuwait has always sought to cooperate with diverse authorities and bodies specialized in fighting corruption and promoting integrity and transparency.

He hoped that the deal would pave the way for constructive cooperation through exchanging information, expertise and methods as well as organizing training courses for cadres in the sector.

Charles Duchaine, director of the French Anti-Corruption Agency, said he was elated with inking the deal, lauding Kuwait's efforts to attain integrity and transparency in all sectors.
