German police arrest man suspected of terrorism

German police special force on Tuesday arrested a 37-year-old Syrian in Berlin, who is suspected of organizing a terrorist attack, authorities said.

The suspect allegedly had information and exchange about the construction of bombs on the Internet, and the purpose of the chat should have been the preparation of a terrorist attack, said the Attorney General of Berlin on Twitter.

The suspect is said to have since January 2019 begun to procure the necessary components and chemicals for the construction of an explosive device, according to the authorities.

According to public TV channel ARD, the suspect is Abdullah H, who is high on the list of jeopardy in Germany.

The German Federal Prosecutor's Office in Karlsruhe is now investigating on suspicion of preparing serious state-damaging violence against the suspect. The suspect's home in Berlin had been searched.
