Islamic Hamas movement chief Ismail Haniyeh on Sunday declared his rejection to the U.S. Middle East peace plan, also known as the "Deal of The Century," according to a statement by his office.

"We are ready to hold an urgent meeting with the brothers in Fatah party and all factions in Cairo in order to draw our own way and unite in the battle of defending our Jerusalem and our sacred places," he added.

Palestinian factions have slammed the U.S. Middle East peace plan, ahead of a possible announcement by the U.S. President Donald Trump.

Trump has invited Netanyahu and his rival, Benny Gantz, to the White House for separate meetings this week, to discuss the details of the new peace pan.

Speaking to the reporters on Jan. 23, Trump said he would unveil the long-awaited plan for Middle East peace, before Netanyahu and Gantz visit Washington.
