The president of Bolivia's Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE), Salvador Romero, guaranteed on Friday that the flow of information during the general elections on Oct. 18 will not be interrupted.

The Preliminary Electoral Results Transmission System (TREP) aimed to inform the public of election results in the shortest time possible, Romero told reporters.

"We have committed ourselves so that the results will be known to the public immediately; the information will be posted as soon as we receive the first data and it is our commitment not to interrupt this process of the dissemination of results via the TREP," he said.

During the presidential elections of Oct. 20, 2019, the TREP system released information on the election in real time, but the transmission was interrupted, leading to complaints and the subsequent resignation of President Evo Morales, who allegedly won the election.

Additionally, the Plenary Chamber of the TSE resolved on Friday that it would accept the request for the dissolution of the Juntos alliance, which is led by the head of the interim government, Jeanine Anez.

Anez announced on Sept. 17 that she was withdrawing from the presidential race, but called on Bolivians to unite to prevent the victory of the Movement for Socialism (MAS).
