"In developing China-Russia strategic cooperation, we see no limit to how far this cooperation can go, and no forbidden zone," a foreign ministry spokesperson said on Tuesday.

Spokesperson Hua Chunying made the remarks after Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov spoke highly of China-Russia relations during his annual press conference on Monday.

China highly appreciates Lavrov's positive remarks on the bilateral relations. Indeed, China and Russia are united and their friendship is unbreakable, Hua told a press conference, adding that in 2020, China-Russia relations stood the tests of a once-in-a-century pandemic and unprecedented global changes, and achieved new and remarkable results.

Hua said that 2021 marks the 20th anniversary of the signing of the China-Russia Treaty of Good-Neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation, the two sides agreed to take the opportunity to fully implement the consensus reached by the heads of state of the two countries, to renew their shared commitment to everlasting friendship and win-win cooperation, and to promote cooperation from a higher starting point, with a wider scope and at a deeper level, Hua said.
