Two people were killed and three others sustained injuries following an accident involving two trucks and a motorcycle in Nigeria's southwest region on Wednesday, a local official said.
The two trucks had a head-on collision while the motorcycle was trapped in between them along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway linking the southern state of Ogun, said Olusola Ojuoro, a divisional head of the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps.
One of the trucks was on top speed, thereby losing control and hitting a moving motorcycle before having a head-on collision with the other, Olusola said.
The two dead victims were trapped at the scene of the accident while the three injured victims were quickly rescued and taken to a hospital, he said.
The police have launched further investigation into the incident, he added.
Deadly road accidents are frequently reported in Nigeria, often caused by overloading, bad condition of roads, and reckless driving.
