Ugandan president carries out mini cabinet reshuffle
KAMPALA, Aug. 15 (Xinhua) -- Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni on Wednesday carried out a mini reshuffle of cabinet ministers replacing vacant places, dropping some of his ministers and creating new ministries.
A State House statement issued here detailing the new cabinet showed that the country's Vice President Edward Ssekandi, Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi and Finance Minister Maria Kiwanuka retained their positions.
Several other ministers retained their positions apart from Richard Nduhuura who has been sent to UN headquarters in New York as Uganda's ambassador.He was minister of state in charge of general duties.
Former minister of foreign affairs Sam Kuteesa has been reinstated after he resigned following corruption allegations.
The other vacant portfolios that have been filled include minister in charge of the presidency, minister of state for labor, employment and industrial relation, minister of gender, labor and social affairs, minister without portfolio in charge of political mobilization, Government chief whip in parliament and minister of state for primary health care.
New ministers added include minister of Bunyoro affairs and minister of state for East African affairs.
Museveni also appoint a new Principal Private Secretary to the President.
This is Museveni's first cabinet reshuffle since he was sworn in for his fourth five-year term in May last year. Enditem
