Bahrain youth dies in clashes with police
MANAMA, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) -- A 16-year-old youth died in clashes with police late Friday in Bahrain's northern Muharraq governorate, a police official said.
The youth, identified as Hussam Al-Haddad, was involved in a " terror act" against a police patrol assigned to secure the busy Khalifa Al Khabeer road in a crowded commercial area of Muharraq, general director of the Muharraq Governorate Police said.
According to the official, vandals hurled petrol bombs at the police patrol, forcing the latter to take necessary actions to avoid a potentially lethal attack.
Al-Haddad got injured in the clashes and died after being transported to a hospital.
An investigation has been launched into the incident and the Public Prosecution has been notified, the police official said. Enditem
