HANOI, Sept. 1 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam defeated Myanmar in straight sets 25-15, 25-18, 25-15 in the 3rd Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Cup for men in Vietnam's northern Vinh Phuc province on Saturday.

Vietnam started the first set smartly, jumping ahead and taking it without much effort 25-15.h The hosts continued to dominate the second set 25-18, and finished off the visiting Myanmar with a 25-15 victory in the third.

The 3rd AVC Cup is being held from September 1-7 in Vietnam's Vinh Phuc Province, some 40 km north of capital Hanoi, with the participation of eight teams in two groups.

Group A includes Vietnam, South Korea, Japan and Myanmar. Group B brackets China, Australia, India and Iran. Enditem
