PRAGUE, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) -- The wrold's tallest Lego bricks tower was built in Prague Pankrac, Czech Republic, on Saturday. This colorful Lego bricks tower was measured as 32.5 meters, outstripping by 30 centimeters a similar construction in Britain.
The constructions was started on Thursday by Lego fans who thus paid respect to the 80th anniversary of the manufacturer. The last brick was laid on top of the tower on Satruday by Czech gold medal winner Miroslava Knapkova of rowing in London Olympic games. "I used to play with Lego as a small girl, when my father brought it home from abroad for me," Knapkova said.
About half a million bricks were used for the construction of the tower. The building of Lego towers has a tradition in the world. The first was built in London in 1988 with a height of 15.2 metres. Enditem
