Iranians to stage nationwide rally Friday against anti-Islam movie: report
TEHRAN, Sept. 13 (Xinhua) -- Iranians are going to stage a nationwide rally on Friday against an anti-Islam movie that insults Muslim's Prophet Mohammed, the official IRNA news agency reported Thursday.
Iran's Islamic Propaganda Cooperation Council announced on Thursday that the Iranian people will stage rally against Israel and the United States in a protest against the anti-Islam online movie which was recently produced in the United States, according to the report.
The rally will be held after the Friday prayers nationwide, said IRNA.
Hundreds of Iranians have protested on Thursday against the movie. The protesters, carrying placards against the film and shouting anti-U.S. and anti-Israel slogans, gathered in front of the Swiss embassy in Tehran which represents the U.S. interests in Iran.
The production of the film has ignited violent protests in Egypt, Libya, Yemen, Tunisia and Iran.
On Wednesday, Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast called the movie "loathsome" and said that the Islamic republic "strongly" condemns the film which insults the Islamic ideals. Enditem
