Myanmar's foreign debt stands at over 15 bln USD: official

Myanmar's foreign debt including capital plus interest stands at 15.089 billion U.S. dollars, while domestic debt reaches 9.988 trillion Kyats (11.89 billion dollars), a high-ranking finance official said Thursday.

At the 5th session of the parliamentary House of Representatives (Lower House) in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar's Deputy Finance and Revenue Minister Dr. Maung Maung Thein disclosed that the circulating currency is 6.199 trillion Kyats (7.37 billion dollars) till the end of September of the fiscal year 2012-13 ( April-March).

Deputy Labor Minister U Myint Thein also revealed that Myanmar' s unemployment rate in 2011 is estimated at 4 percent.

With the presence of 382 parliament members, the session was presided over by the Lower House Speaker U Shwe Mann. Endi
