Japanese auto giant Toyota Motor Corp announced Wednesday to recall about 2.77 million vehicles worldwide due to multiple problems in 13 models.

Toyota decided to recall 1.52 million vehicles in domestic market and 1.25 million vehicles in other countries, including the second-generation hybrid Prius and the compact car Corolla.

Toyota said a problem in the steering intermediate extension shafts was found in certain models, so it decided to recall the cars and repair the fault for free.

Toyota has recalled 7.43 million cars for auto electric window failure in October, which was Toyota's biggest recall. Endit
