Kyrgyz special services have uncovered operations of a clandestine printing shop providing fake passports to international terrorists, the National Security Committee said Wednesday.

"Pursuing an anti-terrorist operation, the National Security Committee prevented activities of a clandestine printing shop and detained an accomplice to international terrorist organizations in the Osh region," it said.

The man is a Kyrgyz citizen who has quite an extensive history of criminal convictions, it said.

"It has been determined that the detainee manufactured fake documents and supplied them to members of international terrorist and extremist organizations and people wanted by law enforcement bodies for committing serious crimes," it said.

Security operatives revealed and confiscated 94 various fake documents, including passports, birth certificates, marriage certificates, education certificates, driving licenses, and other official documents, and also equipment and blank forms of official documents at the place where the detainee lived.

The National Security Committee has opened a criminal case into the matter. Endi
