Ukraine would increase wheat export quotas for the current marketing year from 4 million to 5.5 million tons, an industry body said Thursday.
"The Ukrainian Agriculture Ministry jointly with country's grain traders agreed new export volumes during their meeting on Nov. 14," the Kiev-based European Business Association (EBA) said on its website.
The decision would be adopted in early December, it said.
Ukraine, one of the world's biggest grain exporters, has exported 4.78 million tons of wheat so far this marketing year, which runs from July 2012 until June 2013.
In August, the ministry and traders agreed to limit wheat exports to 4 million tons, corn to 12.4 million tons and barley to 3 million tons.
As of Nov. 14, Ukraine has supplied the global market with around 10 million tons of grain. Endi
