Moscow condemned a bus attack in Israel's central city of Tel Aviv, which left at least 15 people injured, the Russian Foreign Ministry said Wednesday.

"Moscow strongly condemns this criminal act of terrorism. All accomplices of those who committed that atrocity deserve punishment," the ministry said in a statement.

Russia also expressed condolences to those injured in the bombing which took place in Tel Aviv's crowded district close to the Defense Ministry and a major business center, said the statement.

A small bomb exploded in a city bus Wednesday noon, wounding at least 15. As roadblocks were set up and forensics probe underway, police suspected the event as a terror attack, saying two individuals set the bomb in the center of the vehicle and then fled either on foot or in a vehicle.

On Wednesday morning, Hamas renewed rocket attacks on Israel, with Israeli army forces pounding militant targets in response in order to quell the steel rain. Hamas in the Gaza Strip had warned that it would begin a series of suicide bombings in revenge for Israel's military strike.

Russia reiterated its stance by calling both conflicting sides to "immediately stop the armed confrontation," said the ministry.

Moscow also supported Egypt's mediating efforts to stop the violence and open way for the long-lasting truce, it added. Endi
