Two road accidents leave six dead, 14 injured in Ukraine

Six people died, including two celebrities, and 14 others were injured in two separate traffic accidents in eastern Ukraine, authorities reported Friday.

In one case, which occurred at 5.30 p.m. local time Thursday (1530 GMT), four people were killed and seven others injured when the minibus they were riding in collided with a car in Dnepropetrovsk region, according to the country's Emergencies Ministry.

The driver of the car, who was a Russian citizen, famous Ukrainian journalist Maria Kravchenko, her husband Alexandr Nemtsov and actress Lidia Zalevska were among those killed.

In another accident in Lugansk region, two people died and seven others were injured after a bus carrying 10 people went off the road and fell into a ditch at around 5.50 a.m. local time Friday (0350 GMT).

The passengers on the bus were going to work at a nearby coal mine.

The causes of both accidents are under investigation. Endi
