The South Caucasus country of Georgia on Saturday marked the 2012 World AIDS Day with a new campaign motto of zero new infection, zero discrimination and zero fatality.
This year's observation of the World AIDS Day was preceded by a video display and a special race on arousing awareness of healthy lifestyle.
Hundreds of young people from across the country gathered in Tbilisi to mark the special day.
The Georgian AIDS Center on Saturday reported that there had been 493 new infections of HIV between January and November this year while the country's total reported HIV-positive cases and full-blown AIDS patients stand at 3,608, with 965 being women.
Tbilisi accounts for 1,250 of the cases in the country, according to the same center.
