The Canadian government on Friday approved Chinese oil giant CNOOC's 15.1-billion-U.S.-dollar takeover of Canadian firm Nexen.
This is the biggest acquisition overseas of CNOOC, China's biggest offshore oil developer.
On Friday, the Canadian government also approved a 5.3-billion-U.S.-dollars bid by Malaysia's Petronas to take over the North American country's gas producer Progress Energy Resources. Endi
