U.S. stocks opened higher on Wednesday with asset-buying expectations.

Most investors believed the Federal Reserve will announce a new round of asset buying program after a two-day meeting Wednesday.

On Europe's front, investors were concerned that the region's economy will be worsened by the political situation in Italy, EU's third largest economy.

Spain and Greece both pushed a healthy bond auction. The demand was comparatively strong with falling bond yields, suggesting investors kept their confidence toward the two countries' economic future.

Shortly after the opening bell, the Dow Jones industrial average rose 37.30 points, or 0.28 percent, to 13,285.74. The Standard & Poor's 500 was up 4.32 points, or 0.30 percent, to 1,432.16. The Nasdaq Composite Index increased 11.26 points, or 0.37 percent, to 3,033.50. Endi
