The inflation in Britain remained unchanged at 2.7 percent in November, said the Office for National Statistics (ONS) on Tuesday.

The inflation as measured by the Consumer Prices Index (CPI) stood at 2.7 percent last month, unchanged from October.

"Although unchanged overall, at a more detailed level there were significant upward and downward pressures on CPI annual inflation between October and November," the ONS said.

The statistics agency said that major factors supporting the CPI going up included food with the prices rising by 1.1 percent in November, and housing and household service, up 0.6 percent, while the most significant downward contribution to the CPI was transport with the prices fell by 1.0 percent.

The food prices has risen recently due to the poor harvest this year and the rises of energy prices have pushed up the prices of housing and household services.

The ONS figures also show that the Retail Prices Index (RPI) annual inflation dropped from 3.2 percent in October to 3.0 percent in November. Endi
