Police searches Russian Football Fans Union after shooting incident

Moscow Police confirmed Friday the ongoing investigation of a shooting incident in the Dinamo soccer club base.

The police searched the office of the All-Russia Fans Union during the investigation, the Interior Ministry's local branch said.

According to the Sport-Express daily, the incident happened in October at Moscow Dinamo's training base in Moscow region where unidentified attackers fired several shots from paintball guns to players and coaches. Several people were wounded.

The hooligans also threw about leaflets with threats and insults targeting the club's foreign players. A criminal case was opened under the hooliganism article.

Head of the All-Russia Fans Union, Alexander Shprygin told reporters the police also searched his and his relatives' apartments and seized personal computers.

"I informed the Dinamo club and the Russian Football Union heads about that," Shprygin said.

Shprygin has been a founder and head of the All-Russia Funs Union since 2007.

In November, during a game between Dinamo and St. Petersburg's Zenit soccer club in Khimki near Moscow, unidentified fans threw a firecracker to the Dinamo goalkeeper injuring his eyes.

Following that incident, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev urged to tailor the law so the fans would be punished "extremely severely" for misbehavior. Endi
