Nigeria's police in southeast Rivers State on Friday confirmed the abduction of a senior staff of the Pipelines, Products Marketing Company in the state.
State police spokesperson Ben Ugwuegbulam told reporters in Port Harcourt, the oil rich state capital city, that the victim was a deputy manager at the PPMC.
The manager was abducted at Ozuoba in the outskirts of Port Harcourt on Jan. 3, he added, noting that the details of the incident are still sketchy. "Our anti-kidnap unit has commenced investigation into the incident. We will give you more details as soon as we get them," he said, adding that no group had claimed responsibility for the abduction and no ransom had been demanded.
