Two Tunisian jihadists were killed during an operation by Algerian forces on the Tiguentourine gas plant in southern Algeria, news website Kapitalis reported on Friday, quoting Algerian media.

In a communique released on Thursday, Tunisian foreign ministry rejected reports saying that Tunisians were among the hostages.

The communique also called on Tunisians living in the vicinity of the plant to exert "caution" and "vigilance."

According to Algeria's APS news agency, more than 30 terrorists attacked the gas plant on Wednesday morning taking hundreds of people of various nationalities hostage.

Most of the hostages were released on Thursday and Friday after the Algerian forces struck the captors using gunship helicopters, APS said, while reporting that some 30 hostages were still unaccounted for. Endite
