At least six people including three policemen were killed and seven others were injured on Thursday evening in a twin bomb blast incident that hit Pakistan' s southern port city of Karachi, local media and police said.
According to police officials, the first blast took place at a garbage dump in the Sherpao Colony of the Karachi. No one was hurt in the first blast but the bomb exploded with a big bang that spread panic in the area.
The second blast occurred soon after the police parties and rescue teams reached the site.
At least 13 persons including policemen and rescue workers got injured in the second explosion. All the injured were shifted to the Jinnah Hospital where six of them succumbed to their injuries.
Superintendent of Police told media that three of the killed persons were policemen including an officer.
The blast also destroyed one police mobile and three ambulances, which reached there for rescue work.
According to police, the second bomb was fixed in a cement block which also contained ball bearings.
The target of the second blast was police personnel and rescue officials, police said.
No group or militant organization claimed responsibility for the attack yet. Endi
