The Central Bank of Libya launched Thursday a new set of banknotes which will slowly replace the old ones bearing the hallmark of toppled leader Muammar Gaddafi.
The launching ceremony was attended by Sadiq Omar al-Kabeer, manager of the bank, and financial committee members of the General National Congress (GNC).
The new banknotes arrived Wednesday at Mitiga airbase in Libya' s capital of Tripoli, al-Kabeer said, adding that the bank has not given a date yet when the old banknotes will cease to be in circulation. Endi
