Ajax signed Isaac Cuenca on loan from FC Barcelona in the final hours of European January transfer window on Thursday, while the Amsterdam based club sent Eyong Enoh on loan to Fulham.
The 21-year winger Cuenca will stay in Amsterdam for five months until June 30, 2013. He has been out for eight months with a knee injury and just returned in January.
Cuenca is a product of the famous youth academy of FC Barcelona, La Masia. He impressed in his first season (2011/2012) with the first team with 16 La Liga performances in which he scored two goals.
With the arrival of Cuenca Ajax let two players go on loan. Left back Dico Koppers went to ADO Den Haag and Cameroon midfielder Eyong Enoh left for half a year to join Premier League side Fulham, who also loaned Bulgarian right back Stanislav Manolev, from PSV Eindhoven.
FC Twente left back Nicky Kuiper moved on loan to Greek side Panathinaikos, while FC Utrecht bought midfielder Jens Toornstra from ADO Den Haag for an undisclosed fee. Endi
