The Israeli police discovered weapon caches hidden in a kindergarten for children with disabilities, among other locations, in an Arab village in northern Israel on Tuesday, a police source told Xinhua.

The Police's Northern District, which discovered the weapons during a raid early Tuesday morning, announced that police officers found four anti-tank missiles, rocket-propelled grenades (RPG), as well as ammunition stashed in the kindergarten, a swimming pool and a draining ditch.

The police estimated that the arms were intended for criminal use and were not nationalistically-motivated, to serve local rivaling clans and gang members, and stated that the weapons have been destroyed.

"We laid our hands on a variety of weapons, before it made its way into criminal hands, with a determined and professional activity on our behalf," Michael Shapshak, commander of the police 's Northern District told Xinhua.

"We will continue to invest our efforts in means and resources to combat offenders and to prevent injuries and damages in the future," Shapshak said.

In January, policemen raided another weapons stash hidden in a home in the same village.

There are roughly 13,000 people living in Abu Snan, according to the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS). It is inhabited by Muslim Arabs, Druze and Christian Arabs. Endi
