Philippine president Benigno Aquino III on Monday said he may reveal the members of the 15-man Transition Commission within the week.

The Bangsamoro Transition Commission is the body tasked to draft the Bangsamoro Basic Law as provided in the Framework Agreement on the Bangsamoro (FAB).

"The proposed list of members was submitted to me last week but I have yet to review the resumes of the nominees. We want to come up with the best group of people that will draft the organic law," said Aquino.

He and Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) chairman Al haj Murad Ebrahim unveiled a basic services program for the communities under the proposed Bangsamoro autonomous region on Monday. Dubbed as Sajahatra Bangsamoro, the program was launched in the southern Philippine province of Maguindanao.

The ceremonial launch included the distribution of government health insurance, college scholarships, education assistance to Islamic schools and private schools and the roll out of the Cash for Work Program by the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

The program will be implemented in 18 months. The government health insurance and Cash for Work Program will cover 11,000 MILF beneficiaries while 500 Moro youth will be able to avail of scholarships. Endi
