Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said on Wednesday Jacek Cichocki has been named as a candidate to head the Prime Minister's Chancellery and Bartlomiej Sienkiewicz as a candidate for interior minister.

According to local media reports, current Interior Minister Cichocki will replace Tomasz Arabski, recently appointed Poland's Ambassador to Spain.

The government reshuffle was announced at a press conference following a cabinet meeting. The prime minister's appointments still have to be approved by President Bronislaw Komorowski.

Tusk said he would propose to equip the new interior minister with special service clearance. He added that bigger changes to the government are to be expected in mid-year.

Tusk also said Wednesday that he would appoint Finance Minister Jacek Rostowski as deputy prime minister.

Rostowski would keep his job as finance minister after the promotion, underscoring Poland's emphasis to finances, according to local media reports. Endi
