BlackBerry, Canada's mobile phone manufacturer, unveiled its model Z10 in the capital of Indonesia Monday, pricing the phone at 6,999,000 rupiah (some 721 U.S. dollars).

The touch-screen BlackBerry Z10, powered by the newly developed operating system BlackBerry 10, features a 4.2-inch LCD (liquid crystal display) screen with a 1.5 GHz (giga hertz) dual-core processor and an 8-megapixel rear camera coupled with a 2- megapixel front camera.

Available in black and white, the Indonesia sales of the all- new BlackBerry Z10 will start next week across the country.

BlackBerry's Z10 launch aimed at regaining its position in Indonesia, a key emerging market with 240 million people. Data from International Data Corporation (IDC) showed that Indonesia remained a bright spot for BlackBerry and was BlackBerry's biggest market outside the United States and UK last year.

Meanwhile, the BlackBerry 10 devices will have to compete with Google's Android phones who have dominated Indonesia's smartphone market.

BlackBerry was the number one smartphone brand in Indonesia in the second quarter of 2012. However, Android overtook it as the most popular operating systems in the country in the third quarter, according to IDC. Endi
