A three-year-old Israeli girl was seriously injured and her mother and two sisters suffered mediocre wounds in a car crash caused by Palestinians throwing stones on route 5 connecting Tel Aviv and the West Bank city of Ariel.

The accident occurred Thursday evening when a truck driver veered off track to avoid stones being thrown by Palestinians toward the cars and crashed into the woman's car, police spokesperson Mickey Rosenfeld told Xinhua.

Medics sent the victims to the Rabin Medical Center in Petach Tikva, near Tel Aviv. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) are scanning the area near the scene of the incident in order to detain the stone-throwers.

Earlier to the crash, the Israeli Police got calls from people reporting Palestinians hurling stones at the main Israeli road, and one bus driver was lightly injured as a result of stones hitting his bus.

During Operation Pillar of Defense in November, an Israeli woman settler was seriously hurt after stones hit her car on a road near the settlement of Beitar Illit in the West Bank. Endi
