Syrian opposition chief calls on U.S., Russia not to intervene in Syria

Mouaz al-Khatib, the head of the National Coalition of Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces on Thursday called on Russia and the United States not to intervene in Syria.

"They failed in Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya. Syria is not a room for experiment. We can find our own solutions. Do not interfere in this issue," al-Khatib said in a conference in the Turkish capital of Ankara.

Al-Khatib said the doors for having dialogue with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad is closed, but he called on Syrian president to announce a schedule for leaving power. "Then the government and opposition will reach agreement with each other," he added.

Meanwhile, al-Khatib also blamed the Syrian government for using chemical weapons, recalling that "many countries had promised not to allow using the chemical weapons." Endi
