Indonesia's flag carrier airline firm Garuda Indonesia posted more than 1 trillion rupiah (about 110.8 million U.S. dollars) of net profit in its operation throughout last year, or tremendously 72.6 percent higher than 64. 2 million U.S. dollars it booked in the previous year, Garuda Indonesia President Director Emirsyah Satar said here on Wednesday.
Emirsyah said that such an achievement was resulted from its sound operation throughout last year. "We conducted several business expansions last year. It gave good impact to our revenue that grew 12.1 percent," he said in the firm's public expose event held here.
The firm posted 3.4 billion U.S. dollars in revenue last year, or higher than 3.09 billion U.S. dollars a year earlier. Garuda Indonesia also saw its passengers increased to 20.4 million people from 17.1 million ones in 2011, Emirsyah said as quoted by the Tempo online.
He said that the firm has set plans to tap more fortune this year from an estimated 20 percent flight passenger growth this year. To do so, the firm has allocated capital expenditure up to 400 million U.S. dollars, he added. Endi
