Four people were killed and 22 others wounded in separate bomb attacks in central Iraq on Wednesday, the police said.

A car bomb went off at a main street in central town of al- Mussayab, some 50 km south of the Iraqi capital Baghdad, killing three people and wounding 14 others, a local police source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

In a separate incident, a civilian was killed and seven were wounded when a bomb exploded inside a restaurant in the town of Madain, some 30 km southeast of Baghdad, an interior ministry source anonymously told Xinhua.

In addition, Majeed Azzawi, a city council member of the town of al-Mutasim, some 90 km north of Baghdad, was seriously wounded when a sticky bomb detonated in his car while he was driving in the town, a local police source said.

Violence is still common in the Iraqi cities despite the dramatic decrease since its peak in 2006 and 2007 when the country was engulfed in sectarian killings. Endi
