Roundup: World leaders offer condolences over China earthquake

Many foreign leaders sent condolences to Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang on Sunday and Monday as the country was dealing with the aftermath of a deadly earthquake in China's southwest Sichuan province.

The leaders include Thailand's King Bhumibol Adulyadej; Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa; Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow; Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev; King Abdullah II of Jordan; Qatari Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani; Djibouti President Ismail Omar Guelleh; King Juan Carlos of Spain; German President Joachim Gauck; Slovak President Ivan Gasparovic; Democratic People's Republic of Korea Premier Pak Pong-ju; Kyrgyz Prime Minister Jantoro Satybaldiyev; Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan; Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim; Antigua and Barbuda Prime Minister Baldwin Spencer; Czech Prime Minister Petr Necas; Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico; Latvian Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis; Iranian Majlis (parliament) Speaker Ali Larijani; Qatari Crown Prince Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani; Thai Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn and Russian Communist Party Leader Gennady Zyuganov.

The leaders sending condolences also include UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon; Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper; New Zealand Prime Minister John Key; Prime Minister of Dominica Roosevelt Skerrit; House Speaker of Dominica Alix Boyd-Knights; foreign ministers of Bangladesh, Maldives, Kyrgyzstan, Slovakia, Latvia and Yemen as well as officials of Colombia and Georgia.
