Israeli billionaire Stef Wertheimer on Tuesday inaugurated a new industrial park in the northern city of Nazareth, hoping it will become a hub for start- ups and benefit the region's Arab population.
Though the industrial park is not only aimed at Arab-Israelis, Wertheimer believes that his initiative will help create stronger community bonds for this segment of the population, which makes up 20 percent of the Israeli citizenry.
Israeli President Shimon Peres praised Wertheimer and hoped that the new Nazareth park will become another Silicone Valley.
Peres also hoped that this new initiative will further strengthen ties between Arabs and Jews in the region and will help narrow the gap in the workforce by integrating more Arab citizens. Endi
