Japan's top three automakers, Toyota, Nissan and Honda, all produced record high numbers of vehicles overseas in the past business year through March, due partly to increased production in North America and emerging Asian countries on robust demand, local media reported on Wednesday.
Toyota Motor Corp. produced a record 5.20 million vehicles overseas, up 17.8 percent from the previous year.
Nissan Motor Co.'s production outside Japan increased 2.6 percent to a record 3.73 million vehicles, reflecting a 16.3 percent increase in production in the United States.
Honda Motor Co.'s overseas production surged 40.5 percent to an all-time high of 3.18 million vehicles.
All three carmakers, however, saw decline in their production in China, affected by worsened ties between China and Japan. Endi
