Do Thi Thao will be Vietnam's sole representative at the upcoming Asian Grand Prix, kicking off in capital Bangkok of Thailand on May 4, according to the Vietnam Athletics Federation (VAF).

Accordingly Thao will take part in the women's 800m event.

The Asian Athletics Association had invited six Vietnamese athletes to compete at the 2013 Asian Grand Prix, but the Vietnam Athletics Federation narrowed down the list, selecting only three for the event including Thao, Vu Thi Huong (women's 100m) and Duong Thi Viet Anh (women's high jump).

However, Huong and Anh could not participate due to injuries, announced the VAF.

The 2013 Asian Grand Prix second round will be held in Chonburi, Thailand, on May 8, and the third round in Colombo, Sri Lanka, on May 12. Endi
