The Palestinian National Authority (PNA) is working to add the state of Palestine to country lists on internet websites and domains, a Palestinian official said Thursday.

The move is to "embody" the United Nation's acceptance of Palestine as a non-member observer state through its General Assembly in November 2012, said Suliman Al-Zuhiri of the Telecom Ministry.

On Thursday, Google Inc. added the word "Palestine" near its logo, replacing the "Palestinian Territories" reference.

"Our efforts target all international internet service providers and communication companies to refer to the Palestinian territories or the PNA as Palestine," Al-Zuhiri told Xinhua.

He noted that Google changed its reference to the Palestinian territories as a result of the PNA's efforts. Endi
