The Middle East's biggest carrier Emirates Airlines is not worried about the growing fears over an all-out war in the region after Israel attacked Damascus several times with rockets in recent days, a company official said Sunday.
Even the crisis is in front of Dubai's doorstep, the airline could not stop its expansion course, said Sheikh Majid Al-Mulla, the airline's regional senior vice president.
He said the Dubai government founded Emirates in 1985 when Iran and Iraq were at war.
"We also witnessed two wars in Iraq and the SARS crisis in Asia. That's why we remain positive for our future growth strategy," he said.
The Syrian Foreign Ministry said Sunday that Israeli earlier in the day targeted three Syrian military positions and left a number of deaths and injuries.
Last December, the Emirates suspended all flights to Damascus until further notice due to the unrest in Syria. Endi
