Ecuador announces lineup for match against Germany

The Ecuadorian national football coach, Colombian Reinaldo Rueda, Monday called the 23 players to face Germany in a friendly match and South American qualifying matches of the 2014 World Cup against Peru and Argentina.

The team's novelties are the call of forward Marlon de Jesus, from Emelec, leader of Ecuador's national tournament, as well as midfielder Alex Colon, from Deportivo Quito, and defender Elvis Bone, from El Nacional.

The lineup also includes 10 players from foreign clubs, most of them from the Mexican league, such as Christian Bentez (America), Jefferson Montero and Joao Rojas (Morelia), Segundo Castillo ( Puebla) and Walter Ayovi (Monterrey).

The "Tri", as it is called the Ecuadorian team, will play against Germany on May 29 in Florida Atlantic University's stadium, in Boca Raton, Florida, United States. The friendly match against Germany will serve as a warm-up for the upcoming South American qualifying matches against Peru in Lima, on June 7, and against Argentina in Quito, on June 11.

For the match against Germany, the players called by Rueda will camp next Saturday in the "National Team's House", a sports complex in northeastern Quito.

The team will travel to the US to face the German team on the following Sunday, according to a statement from the Ecuadorian Football Federation (FEF).

In the South American qualifiers, Ecuador ranks second with 20 points behind the first Argentina (24), with Colombia (19), Chile (15), Venezuela (15), Uruguay (13), Peru (11) Bolivia (9) and Paraguay (8) following.

The list of called players is the following:

Goalkeepers: Maximo Banguera (Barcelona), Alexander Dominguez ( Liga de Quito), Adrian Bone (El Nacional).

Defenders: Gabriel Achilier, Oscar Bagui (Emelec), Walter Ayovi (Monterrey, Mexico), Elvis Bone (El Nacional), Frickson Erazo, Juan Carlos Paredes (Barcelona), Jorge Guagua (Deportivo Quito).

Midfielders: Segundo Castillo (Puebla, Mexico), Renato Ibarra ( Vitesse, Holanda), Alex Colon (Deportivo Quito), Luis Saritama ( Liga de Quito), Pedro Quinonez (Emelec), Antonio Valencia ( Manchester United, England), Christian Noboa (Dynamo, Ukraine).

Forwards: Juan Luis Anangono (Argentinos Juniors, Argentina), Jefferson Montero, Joao Rojas (Morelia, Mexico), Felipe Caicedo ( Lokomotiv, Russia), Marlon De Jesus (Emelec) y Christian Benitez ( America, Mexico). Endi
