Iranian presidential candidate Mohammad Gharazi said that he will form an "anti-inflation government" if he wins the upcoming election on June 14, Press TV reported.
The country has been suffering from rising unemployment and declining domestic production, said Gharazi, adding that job creation can turn the tide of runaway inflation in Iran, according to Press TV.
The country has also been hit hard by the devaluation of the national currency and the rising imports has hurt domestic production, he was quoted as saying.
He blamed the incumbent administration for the current state of the economy, adding the nation has been grappling with a decline in purchasing power in recent years.
Gharazi also lashed out at the West for exerting pressure on Tehran due to its nuclear program, stressing that the country has the right to access and use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, according to semi-official Fars news agency.
The Iranian nation will not surrender to the West's pressures, he was quoted as saying.
As regards his stance on foreign policy issues, Gharazi said that the Iranian nation adheres to interaction with the world states and opposes confrontation, according to the report.
On Thursday, Gharazi ruled out the possibility of direct talks with Washington, but stressed that communication channel should be open.
Last week, Iran's Guardian Council of Constitution announced the names of eight eligible candidates for the upcoming presidential election. Endi
