BISHKEK, May 28 (Xinhua) -- The Collective Rapid Reaction Forces of the Organization of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) will conduct a drill in Belarus and peacekeeping training in Russia this year. Russian President Vladimir Putin said Tuesday during an informal meeting of Presidents of CSTO member states in Bishkek.

Putin called the Collective Rapid Reaction Forces and peacekeepers the new guarantees of security.

CSTO regularly conducts operations in the fight against drug trafficking, illegal migration, crime in the sphere of information, as well as holds joint military exercises. Last year, it held a large-scale exercise "Interaction 2012" in Armenia and peacekeeping training in Kazakhstan.

Putin stressed the importance of military and foreign policy coordination within the framework of the CSTO. "I hope that today, in an informal atmosphere we will consider the situation in Afghanistan and what we must do in case of change of situation there to ensure the safety of our country," he said.
