Thailand has moved up three ranks in the World Competitiveness Survey, standing at number 27 whereas it ranked 30th. last year, the National News Bureau of Thailand reported on Thursday.
The World Competitiveness Survey, conducted in 60 countries and regions by the International Institute for Management Development (IMD), a Switzerland-based business school, shows that Thailand has improved in terms of economic expansion, GDP growth, currency stability, political conflicts, and tourism revenue.
However, the survey also shows the country's weaknesses which include long-term unemployment, lack of scientific research and corruption.
The survey was released on Wednesday. The top five rank are the United States (1), Switzerland (2), China's Hong Kong (3), Sweden (4) and Singapore (5).
Last year, the IMD ranked Thailand at the 30th position out of 59 countries and regions surveyed, indicating that Thailand needed to improve in 3 aspects: government efficiency, business efficiency and infrastructure. Endi
